25 minutes south of Bergerac with the river Dordogne and International Airport
The bastide town of Eymet is just 3kms away with shops, bars and restaurants as well as the weekly market. The Dordogne river-side town of Bergerac with its International Airport is just a 25 minute drive to the North.
It is an ideal holiday home for families and groups in search of tranquillity and privacy whilst being in easy reach of the wealth of interest that the Dordogne has to offer. The Dordogne valley is well known for its abundance of vineyards including Monbazillac, Pecharment and Bergerac AOCs. There are activities to suit all ages and interests, foodies will enjoy the great local restaurants at the heart of France's centre of gastronomic excellence, as well as the wine of AOC Bergerac. The area has been described the capital of world prehistory, and culture vultures are spoilt for choice with caves, museums and chateaux aplenty.
The Chateau is just 25 minutes south of Bergerac making it an easy final destination. Bergerac has its own International Airport. Ryanair flies here from London Stansted, Liverpool, Nottingham, and Bristol. Flybe flies into Bergerac from London Gatwick, Southampton, Exeter and Edinburgh. There are also interconnecting flights to Belfast, Glasgow, Dundee and Newcastle with Flybe. Jet2 flies to Leeds Bradford Airport and Transvania flies to Rotterdam. Twinjet also now flies from Bergerac to Paris.
The vibrant city of Bordeaux is 1hr 30 minutes away, with a larger International Airport servicing even more UK and Worldwide destinations. In addition, Toulouse Airport is approximately 1hr 30 mins drive to the south - again a large International Airport. The TGV station at Libourne connects with Paris.

Our stay here had been planned for nearly two years. This was our Golden Wedding celebration and our family were coming from Australia Britain and the USA - so it had to be perfect! We actually went to France 18 months before to look at different places to make sure of it! I think this is a bit unusual - and with this place I can assure anyone - there is no need - it really is all and more than it promises. Of course it is expensive - but any house that can cope with 20 easily would be. We numbered 10 adults and 10 children. The style and comfort are superb. It's been gorgeously decorated and furnished with loads of everything you need.
We had a 'party' day when 5 other relations joined us and Michelle organised a chef for us for the day. We also chose to have the wonderful guardian who lives on the property to help us each evening washing up etc. She was an absolute star and nothing was too much trouble. I believe many more staff can be organised if one requires it.
The pool was warm and beautiful - the nearby village of Eymet is a gem. We loved it and are only sad that we can't justify a repeat week - A diamond wedding is a long way off! No I'm not a relation and yes - this is my first ever 5 star review of many I have written! One small gripe - the weather wasn't what we had planned - Michelle please organise that better if we ever manage a 'next time!'

It may seem cliche, but our stay at Blissful Country Chateau was truly the vacation of a lifetime. We had a group of 15 adults who stayed at the chateau for a week while we bicycled and toured the surrounding area. The chateau couldn't have been a more perfect home base.
Each couple or single had their own bedroom/bath which made it very nice. The chateau had rooms large enough to accommodate all of us for dinner or other gatherings and many places to find some quiet time to read or nap. The chateau and grounds were well kept and afforded opportunity for many activities right at the chateau, swimming, ping pong, lawn games, fishing, cooking, and even just "hanging out".
Our hosts couldn't have been more helpful. We were introduced to a chef who prepared 3 fabulous meals for the group. When we had a slight electrical problem, someone came right over to fix the issue.
The location was also great. While the chateau is very much out in the country, the little town of Eymet was a great resource. There were markets and restaurants and shops to visit all within 2km of the chateau. A car ride would get you to bigger towns such as Bergerac or Bordeaux where all the amenities of a big city were available.
