The main house and pigeonnier are set around a stunning and mature idyllic garden with incredible views over the French Countryside towards the medieval town of Lauzerte.
Lauzerte offers many amenities such as shops, restaurants and bars as well as weekly markets and special events throughout the year.
This rental property is most certainly a home away from home with much character and warmth and the personality of the owners comes through in the linen, art and furniture.
Accommodation
The main house has a large Living Room with UK television channels. French doors open out onto the terrace and courtyard. There is also a smaller Sitting Room. The Kitchen has a large dining table that will seat all your guests and is well equipped with a double oven, American Fridge Freezer and lots of other modern amenities. There is also a Games Room with table tennis and table football. There is also a Utility Room with 2 washing machines, 1 tumble dryer and ironing facilities. Throughout the house, there are chunky wooden beams, traditional terracotta tiles and original stone fireplaces.
Bedrooms
Two of the seven bedrooms are in the main house on the ground floor with three more ground floor bedrooms accessed from the Courtyard. The final 2 smaller bedrooms with air conditioning are accessed through the main house by a steep spiral staircase and are in the Pigeonnier tower.

- Bedroom 1 has a 4 poster double with ensuite bath and shower room
- Bedroom 2 has a double bed with fireplace and ensuite bath and shower room.
Courtyard access to;
- Bedroom 3 has a double bed with ensuite bath and shower room.
- Bedroom 4, has a double bed with ensuite bathroom and a separate shower room.
- Bedroom 5 has a double bed with ensuite bath and shower. It also has a private balcony.
Spiral staircase leads up to attic bedrooms;
- Bedroom 6 has two single beds with air conditioning.
- Bedroom 7 has 2 single beds with air conditioning. There is a low door to this bedroom.
- Bedroom 6 and 7 share a bathroom with bath and shower.
Linen and towels (including pool towels) are provided.
There is also a separate 2 bedroom cottage that can be rented additionally. The cottage has an open plan Kitchen and Sitting Room. Upstairs there are 2 Double bedrooms and a bathroom with shower. The additional rental per week is £850, except for July and August when it is £1050. This is never let separately and guests always have exclusive use of the property and gardens.
Outside Living
The property is set within a very small hilltop village and the views from the garden and pool area are stunning. The owners have spent a generation planting the garden and it is now full of mature trees and shrubs with many different areas to sit and enjoy the view and tranquillity including the courtyard, the water garden with a fountain and the rock garden by the swimming pool.
The swimming pool is 12.5m x 5m and is heated and saltwater. There is an alarm for security. This area also has plenty of cushioned recliners and a large canvas sail for shade. The wisteria covered Dining Terrace has a large wooden table that seats up to 18 easily and on the lower garden there is also a Boules area for those who wish to play.
For larger groups, there is also a two bedroom cottage which can also be rented. This is never let separately and guest always have exclusive use of the facilities. Please enquire for more details and rental prices.
Local Area
Located in the Tarn et Garonne, Sout West France, this area is surrounded by beautiful landscapes, mediaeval towns and villages and historic sites. Places such as Lauzerte, Puy-l’Eveque, Chateau de Bruniquel, Castelnau-Montratier, Moissac and Cahors, to mention just a few.
Lauzerte is about 9 kms from the property and this charming medieval hilltop village known for its narrow streets, historical buildings, and panoramic views is listed as one of France's "Les Plus Beaux Villages de France" (The Most Beautiful Villages of France). Explore its quaint squares, the Church of Saint-Barthélemy, and the beautiful surrounding countryside. It also has many shops, restaurants and bars including a weekly market on Saturday and Wednesdays. During the summer, there is also an evening market on a Thursday.
Moissac is a 18 km drive away and is famous for the Abbey of Saint-Pierre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The abbey is an important stop on the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route. Don’t miss the cloister with its intricate carvings and the town’s lovely bridge over the Tarn River. Moissac is also famous for the Moissac Jazz Festival which takes place every year usually from late July to mid-August.
Cahors although slightly further away (approx. 35km) is well worth a visit and for its Pont Valentré, a 14th-century fortified bridge and the Saint-Étienne Cathedral. The city lies in the Lot Valley, surrounded by vineyards, making it a great base for exploring the region's wine routes.
The Tarn et Garonne offers a wealth of outdoor and cultural activities for nature lovers, history enthusiasts and those seeking a slower pace of life. Yet there are still many activities to enjoy such as hiking, nature walks, cycling, canoeing and kayaking, wine tasting and vineyard tours, exploring medieval villages, caves (speleology), fishing and visiting historical sites and Châteaux. The Tarn et Garonne is also well known for its gastronomy, particularly foie gras, truffles, melon de Quercy and Cahors wine. The Tarn et Garone is a great region for those seeking both relaxation and adventure.
Getting Here
The large International Airport of Toulouse-Blagnac Airport (TLS) is approximately an hour and 30 minutes by car. It is a major hub for flights to and from Europe and also beyond to Canada, Dubai, New York, Doha, Tunisia. The Dordogne riverside town of Bergerac with its smaller International Airport is also just under a 2 hour drive to the North.
